liposomalcurcumin

Liposomal Curcumin Increases Liver Cancer Survival +400% over Standard Curcumin in Vivo: In this just-published breakthrough study, mice given a new form of liposomal curcumin had a 400% greater chance of surviving liver cancer compared to those given standard curcumin after nine weeks. By that point, none of the mice in the placebo group were still alive. Whats new about this approach? The curcumin is double-encapsulated: first in PLGA microparticles (already used in nanomedicine) and then in spherical liposomes made of egg lecithin, as depicted in the photo. And its powerful: in the lab, it killed up to 92% of human liver cancer cells (HepG2) after 72 hours.

Curcumin is one of the most studied natural medicines for cancer, and is now being tested in no less than 16 clinical trials on cancer, including prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and osteosarcoma. But the problem is that curcumin is very poorly absorbed. Thats why this new liposomal form with enhanced absorption and sustained release is so important. Its not yet available to the public, but in the meantime the most advanced supplements known as C3 do enhance absorption by 700% over standard curcumin, and even beat out supplements using piperine (black pepper extract). Typical doses of C3 available in supplements on the market are 500-1160 mg, but the clinical trials have used up to 4000 mg (4 grams) daily.
